Watercolor on paper, 2026
These two paintings emerged spontaneously following ceremonial experiences.
I approached the paper without a preconceived image, allowing colors, gestures, and shapes to unfold intuitively. There was no particular story I was trying to tell or vision I was attempting to reproduce.
The process became an exploration of what remains after a ceremony—sensations, impressions, emotions, and something less tangible that can be difficult to express in words.
The flowing purples and magentas, the unexpected shapes, and the interplay between movement and stillness all emerged through that process.
I see these paintings not as representations of what I experienced, but as expressions of what continued moving within me afterward.
A way of giving form to something that had not yet found words.
